We conducted extensive user experience studies: Floome’s final design gives you the best usability in its field, it fits in your pocket, purse or jacket, keeps the mouthpiece clean and it is ready to be used in a single step.

I designed FLOOME with Caterina Falleni for 2045Tech

Borderline between social design, architecture and land art, Runner is a large surface that resembles the strong iconic signal of the foot, from which branch out training tracks, in different lengths and various colors, to represent their difficulty level.

Runner is the revenge of a material that used to be buried and hidden in the ground, now spotlighted lead actor, suggesting wellness and movement.
Its surfaces are made of rubber tire powder (from 0,5 to 15mm diameter) bound in poliurethane (4 to 20% of the mix, by weight).

By calibrating the composition of the mixture you can get a material with different friction properties: you can create ad-hoc tracks that allow post-surgery and post-traumatic rehabilitation, jogging or agonistic training, in different lenghts and recognizable contrasting colors, to enrich public spaces or requalify abandoned green areas.

This material is very suitable for outdoors: it has good resistance even if not exceedingly tough (useful to attenuate accidental falls), and it makes fluids leave through, draining water and avoiding the creation of dangerous puddles: to run, walk and exercyse in safety.

I designed Runner for the company ELASTRADE

Its name, Cloudy, recalls the image of a dark sky, creating an antithesis between the dozens of colors it is produced, and the gray monotony of a cloudy sky.

Cloudy has been prototyped in stoneware, with plaster molds.

The piece is intrinsically self-sustaining as it absorbs the energy of daylight to fuel its own illumination.
More than five hundred cells have been cut into the shapes of four different breeds of butterfly and these seem to flutter around a central flame-like handblown glass bulb, their iridescent wings glinting in the light.

The semiotics of this design are highly significant as the butterflies become signifiers of the
light’s self-sufficiency.
Physically, these insects also power their own bodies, using their wings to absorb the sun rays, in turn raising and sustaining their own body temperatures to that which is necessary for their survival.
